Who We AreThe Hawai'i Homeschool Network (HHN) is a charitable, all volunteer run 501(c)3 that began as a grassroots movement to build a stronger network of homeschool families in Hawai'i.
We are a group of homeschooling families who support each other in our homeschooling efforts. As a diverse and inclusive group, we have various philosophies when it comes to teaching our children. This network serves as a resource to provide information and opportunities no matter what your homeschool style or knowledge may be. Mission StatementTo provide Hawaii families access to and information about alternative educational opportunities.

Our HistoryThe Hawaii Homeschool Network was organized in 2014 as a grassroots movement based in Waimea on the Big Island. In 2017, we formalized our organization as a 501(c)3. We serve families statewide. We focus on:
Events and ProgramsSupport for Families - Since 2014, the Hawaii Homeschool Network has answered questions and organized information on our website and via email.
Annual Conference - Since 2015, the Hawaii Homeschool Network has organized an annual Homeschooling Conference. The Conference is welcome to new and experienced homeschooling families. We bring in nationally-acclaimed experts and speakers as well as present a forum for learning and sharing from local families. Science Fair - Since 2017, the Hawaii Homeschool Network has organized an annual Science Fair for homeschooled students. This fair provides exposure to an organized formal presentation opportunity for students in grades PreK-12. Additionally, it allows middle and high school students the chance to qualify for the district science fair which feeds the state and national science fairs. Alternative Education Showcase - Since 2018, the Hawaii Homeschool Network has hosted an open, booth-style event that invites several alternative education programs to share about their non-traditional schooling options and enrichment activities. This even includes representatives from both independent homeschooling groups to charter school homeschool support programs. |
